Mark your calendars for May 15 and 16 for the Second Annual Pickwick Ride and Reside – Boat, Home and Travel Show to be held at Pickwick Landing State Park.

Organizing officials from the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce and Hardin County Convention and Visitors Bureau are currently putting together what promises to again be one of the summer’s most exciting events in the region.

After the outstanding success of the event’s inaugural year, organizers are putting together an event sure to be even more fun, exciting and event-filled for this year!

Pickwick area boat dealers Marine Sales, Paul Seaton Sales & Service and Pickwick Sales will have new and used boats on display with some in-water. Buyers may even be able to take a spin on Pickwick Lake, sure to convince them they have chosen the perfect watercraft for them and their family.

The event will also include a home show in which Hardin County real estate professionals will offer a tour of available homes surrounding Pickwick Lake. These homes are not to be missed. From breath taking views to lake living at its finest, the home tour is sure to offer something for everyone looking to relocate or to have a second home in the prestigious Pickwick Lake area.

The travel show will highlight what Pickwick and Hardin County has to offer as a destination for those looking to get away. There will be information on local attractions, historic sites and vacation opportunities. Visitors will see why they need to pack their bags for Hardin County.

Vendors are still being sought for the event but space is filling up quickly! Based on last year’s attendance and response from the community, attendance is expected to top last year’s outstanding crowd. There will be numerous special events and fun for the whole family. This year will feature The Banana Derby for kids of all ages. The derby features monkeys acting as jockeys riding dogs in an all-out race around the track to the delight of spectators. It’s a spectacle not to be missed!

Pickwick Ride and Reside will be held 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 16.
